by WiL Admin last modified 24 May 2007, 04.56PM

The Department of Education and Training recognises the critical importance of the representation of women in senior positions of leadership and decision-making. The Department’s Women in Leadership Strategy has been developed to improve the status of women through the number of women applying for, and being appointed to, these positions.

As part of the Women in Leadership Strategy, the Department is making 10 scholarships available to interested women who are currently part of a management team but who are not in senior management to attend a leadership professional learning program. This program is Strategic Leadership for Women conducted by Project U which will be run in Perth on 20 – 22 June 2007.

It is particularly aimed at women aspirants to leadership roles in schools and/or Public Service positions at level 6 and 7.It is intended to offer places in a range of similar activities during 2007. Ten places are available in the first program for 2007.
