Engendering Leadership Through Research and Practice

The Department of Education and Training recognises the critical importance of the representation of women in senior positions of leadership and decision making. The Department’s Women in Leadership Strategy has been developed to build and support the leadership capabilities of women.


UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA BUSINESS SCHOOL

21 – 24 JULY 2008

As part of this strategy, the Department is offering 10 women the opportunity to attend the Engendering Leadership conference at the University of Western Australia Business School.

This international conference provides an opportunity to explore avenues of thinking about gender and leadership with some of the world’s most acknowledged leaders and thinkers.

The conference will be held at the University Club on 21 -24 July 2008.

Eligibility

Places in the program are available to permanent female Department employees who are

·        substantive or acting public servants level 8 and above;

·        Directors Schools; and  

·        Level 6 Principals.

Selection Process

Submissions will be assessed by a subgroup of the Women in Leadership Reference Group and successful women will be notified by Thursday 17 July 2008.

Applications are to be submitted on the Expression of Interest form available on the Women in Leadership website: http://www.wil.det.wa.edu.au/wil

Applications close 4:00pm Monday 14 July 2008. No late submissions will be accepted.
