Update

Women of Achievement Dinner

One hundred and eighty staff attended the second Women of Achievement dinner held on 14th June at the new University Club of Western Australia. Anna Kristancic, currently a District Director at West Coast, hosted the evening around the theme of Concepts, Challenges and Realities of Leadership. Guest speakers were Barbara Etter, Assistant Commission, WA Police Service, Dr Kathy Lacey from Right Angles Consulting Pty Ltd and Monash University, and Pamela Paton, Director of the Western Australian College of Teaching.

During the evening a toast was raised to Sue Rodway who received her Women of Achievement Award recently at her retirement.

Staff who participated in the evening are reminded to Work on creating balance in their lives, to make sure their pitons are secured and, of course, to Make a pie! Make a pie! Make a pie!

Promoting Women in Leadership Pilot Professional Learning Program

There has been an overwhelming response to the call for applications for a place in this program, a clear indication that there is a need and an appetite for this area of professional development. All applicants will be advised of the result of the selection process before the end of the school term. The pilot program commences on 1 August with a breakfast launch at the University Club of Western Australia.

It is expected that, as a result of the evaluation of the program, that this course will be made available to staff on an ongoing basis.
